How We Keep You Safe When Smashing Electronics at Smash Room Prague

16/07/2025

At Smash Room Prague, your health and safety are our top priority — even when you're unleashing chaos. While the idea of smashing electronics like TVs, printers, laptops, or washing machines may sound thrilling (and it is!), it's important to remember that many of these devices contain materials that can be harmful if not handled properly.

That's why we've taken extra steps to make your experience both fun and safe.

Why Safety Matters When Breaking Electronics

Electronic devices often contain:

  • Heavy metals like lead, cadmium, or mercury

  • Toner powder from printers

  • Phosphor coatings in CRT displays

  • Refrigerants in old fridges or cooling units

  • Sharp glass or pressurized elements

Breaking these items without proper preparation could release dangerous substances into the air or environment. That's something we take seriously.

What We Do Before You Smash

Before any electronic item enters the smash room, we manually inspect and prepare it by:

  • Removing batteries and power supplies

  • Taking out fluorescent bulbs, toner cartridges, and cooling gas components

  • Opening and pre-clearing any pressurized parts (e.g., screens, CRTs)

  • Ensuring the item no longer contains hazardous fluids or chemicals

These steps help reduce risk and make your rage room session as safe as possible.

Protective Equipment for Every Session

Each participant receives:

  • A protective suit, gloves, a full face shield, a respirator and goggles

  • Instructions on how to behave safely in the room

This ensures you're protected from flying glass, debris, and any minor surprises during your smash.

Eco-Responsible Waste Handling

We partner with licensed waste handling companies to make sure all materials are sorted, stored, and disposed of according to Czech and EU regulations. We do not dump electronics irresponsibly or try to recycle them in ways that could be illegal or unsafe.

Instead, everything that gets smashed is sorted by:

  • Glass and ceramics

  • Metals and plastics

  • Electronics and appliances

Each category goes through the proper recycling or disposal channels to protect the environment.

Your Health Comes First

We love chaos. But we love safety more.

So the next time you grab a bat and smash that printer that's been haunting your office for years — know that we've made sure you can let it all out without taking anything dangerous in.
